Raj's Rasoi

We haven't been to an Indian or vegetarian restaurant in ages, so that's where we're headed this Monday. As a bonus for those who like food, Raj's Rasoi won RFT's Best Vegetarian Restaurant in 2008. How can we possibly go wrong with Raj?

We've set our clocks an hour ahead, and that means dinner's moving forward to 7:30 pm.

Haveli Indian Restaurant

Do you remember when Dinner Club went here before? While we do have a rule that we don't repeat restaurants, we have repeated some physical locations several times. This is one; Haveli occupies the same space that once housed VN Cafe (which we visited on March 7, 2005). The format and cuisine of Haveli are obviously a bit different than those of its Vietnamese predecessor, so please join us as we return to the corner of Page and Dielman.

Mayuri Indian Restaurant

Mayuri is an Indian restaurant that took over the space formerly occupied by Ruchi (where we went almost a year ago!). It's gotten some good reviews and we haven't had Indian in ages!

Gokul Snacks & Sweets

Gokul's an all-vegetarian Indian buffet restaurant that just happens to do an all-vegan version the first Monday of every month. This restaurant was just written up by Sauce, who said, "We wish we could tell you Gokul's new vegan dinner buffet will make up for the way you've been eating lately, but it sounds pretty decadent." That sounds good to us!

Saffron

We've been to this location before when it was Peacock, and now we're going again as it is a new restaurant called Saffron. It's Indian cuisine and even though it is not the fantastic, best-ever House of India it has somehow gotten good reviews. Maybe they're bribing people and will bribe us too!

Ruchi Indian Cuisine

Ruchi is fairly new to the St. Louis food scene and their lunch buffet is very extensive and fairly good. Its proximity to my office makes it a very tempting lunch option! Regardless, come and join us - and take a look at this RFT ad for instructions on how to receive a special DISCOUNT!

Taste of India

Stef and I went to Tandoori Hut several years ago, and it was pretty tasty Indian food (though no HOI - as nothing is like HOI). It's now under new management (and a new name), and they're very excited to see us there. We're excited to be going! So why don't you join us?

India Palace

Come join us at a location with perhaps one of the coolest dining views available around town. India Palace "...by the Airport" is located on the 11th floor of the Howard Johnson tower. Park around the hotel or in the garage, take the elevator up, and enjoy the delicate flavors and spices of India with us.

Everest Cafeteria

While some of our brethren will be enjoying less secular activities, the rest of us have an opportunity to check out Everest Cafeteria, the only Nepali restaurant around. Some list them as Chinese, some list them as Indian, but pretty much everyone lists them as high value. Pack warmly, hire the strongest shirpas you can find, and don't forget your wool socks this time.
