Momo's

Momos is a new place that opened up and they serve small plates (Greek-inspired) ranging from traditional to experimental. I've driven by there a number of times and it looks bright, colorful, and interesting.

Grassi's West Italian Deli

Grassi's West is set back from the road just a bit at essentially Lindbergh and Conway. It serves up Italian fare and has (at least from my memories of going there 8 years ago) pretty good sandwiches and pizza.

El Tio Pepe

We've been going to locations more central and east recently, so it's time to try something a bit different. Located in a strip mall in St. Charles, El Tio Pepe has been a favorite of many people for years; each dish is made fresh right after it's ordered. If you're unfamiliar with St. Charles but would like to go, feel free to contact us and we can try to set up some sort of carpool.

Mango Peruvian Cuisine

I don't think anybody on the STLDC list has been here, so it will be a first for everyone! Prices range from a few dollars up to $12 for some entrees, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Peruvian food is all about.

Thai Pizza Co.

Now, I know we were in the loop last time but this place looks pretty cool. It's a combination of Thai and Italian food. In addition to the 12 pizzas offered, they have a good selection of pastas, noodle bowls, salads, appetizers, and stir fry dishes. So if you're not into eating fusion cuisine, you should still be able to find something.

Nadine's

Nadine's serves up American food, and if the weather is nice then perhaps we will be able to eat it outside on their patio. The food is cheap, according to other reviews, and it's certainly a change from the ethnic places we've been going to recently.

De Palm Tree

De Palm Tree is a relatively new Jamaican place that has delicious jerk items and a very laid back feel. There are sandwiches as well as more exotic dishes like Ackees and Salt Fish (Jamaica's national dish - don't spoil the surprise by reading about it online, now!). The restaurant is fairly small, so it's important that you RSVP so we can give them time to rearrange the inside of their space to accomodate us.

Miss Saigon

Since they've opened, I've been to Miss Saigon twice. It's about as good as one of my favorites, Pho Grand (which the owner's sister owns), but a bit more elegant. So why not come to the East Loop area and party with us?

El Paisano

El Paisano is a fairly new, fairly good Mex (Tex-Mex really, but with a few Mexican specialties) place that opened up in a former Ponderosa's space in Olivette. Brian wants to go check it out as a Dinner ClubDestinationTM. We're expecting you to join!

A'mis

This place was written about recently, it's an Italian restaurant staffed by people from the Middle East - all amazingly working together harmoniously. Perhaps capitalism has conquered hostility once and for all! So come and join us as we support freedom and tolerance and, most importantly, food.

Buffet City

While it seems like roasting over an open flame and raw might be contradictory, Buffet City is going to try to prove that wrong - not only do they have BBQ but they also have sushi on their giant (over 200 item) buffet. If you're a picky eater, you probably can find something here.

Lu Lu

Lu Lu is a Chinese restaurant that offers food in the styles of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Canton, Singapore, Beijing and other areas. It's in a part of St. Louis with a growing Asian population - a section that is surely destined to be our Chinatown some day! Yeah. So the food's great and they're always happy to explain the many interesting dishes on the menu, and you should come out and join us.

Everest Cafeteria

While some of our brethren will be enjoying less secular activities, the rest of us have an opportunity to check out Everest Cafeteria, the only Nepali restaurant around. Some list them as Chinese, some list them as Indian, but pretty much everyone lists them as high value. Pack warmly, hire the strongest shirpas you can find, and don't forget your wool socks this time.

Da Baldo

Now, I'm aware that their website says they're closed on Mondays. The St.Louis Dinner Club went undercover to verify that this is not the case. Two calls confirmed that they are in fact going to be open on Monday. The food looks tasty, and who could resist a place called "Da Baldo"? Not I - and neither will you!
