O! Wing Plus

O! Wing Plus defies proper punctuation and has salads and wraps in addition to chicken wings in 9 different sauces. The Song family adds a Korean flair to the ordinary, and their restaurant has recently been reviewed favorably by the esteemed Byron Kerman. Doesn't it sound like a fun place to meet up?

Lola

Lola took over the space held by Crepes in the City, and they've changed the look and feel dramatically. While you can still get crepes, you can also get escargot, duck, a lobster tail corn dog (say what?), and polenta fries. We'd love for you to join us!

Ginger Bistro

Remember the Blockbuster video store in the Loop? Well, it's gone. Ginger Bistro takes its place, "infusing French and North American culinary techniques with time proven recipes from China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan and other parts of the Pan Pacific region." In Blockbuster terms, that's combining the Foreign Films section with the Action and Drama, then putting the whole thing in New Releases. Let's just hope the combination doesn't also dabble in Horror.

El Agave Mexican Restaurant

How did we pick this week's location? We passed El Agave as we were driving along Watson. We know absolutely nothing about it, save for the fact that they have a sister location in St. Charles. There are no reviews posted anywhere. Curious? Join us!

Bridge & Tunnel Pizza

In the heart of the Washington Ave. loft district, B & T Pizza believes that a pizza is all about the quality of its crust. Thus, they make their dough with only four ingredients: unbleached unbromated wheat flour, sea salt, yeast, and water. Let's try it out.

Cielo Restaurant & Bar

We're skipping dinner this coming week and instead going to Downtown Restaurant Week the following week. For those who are unfamiliar with this special event, you can read all about it on their web site, http://www.downtownrestaurantweek.net/. Essentially, it's a chance to go to a nice restaurant, have several courses, and support a good cause for $25. We've done it for many years now. We'll be going to Cielo, located at the Four Seasons, on Monday, August 23, at 6:00 pm. We've already made a reservation and unfortunately we have a limited number of seats, so please let us know ASAP if you'll be able to join. If we are unable to accomodate you, we'll be sure to let you know.

Addie's Thai House

We haven't had Thai food for a while, and it's time to rectify that. Addie's occupies the space formerly held by Thai Buree (in a strip mall on the NE corner of the intersection of 141 and Olive Blvd) and all of the reviews I've read are glowing. Let's find out how good it is, shall we?

Omar's Italian & Mediterranean Cuisine

Omar's serves up a curious blend of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine - pizza with Greek lamb is a prime example of this fusion. For the purists out there, Omar's has unfused items, too.

Kota Wood Fire Grill

Kota's style of cooking is self-described as "a lighter, South Coast style" with many of their items prepared on a wood fire grill. They have delicious-looking infused milkshakes in addition to all of the tropical fare. Really, though, how can you get anything other than dishes with plantains?

Pearl Cafe

Nestled between QuikTrip, mini-golf, Burger King, and a payday loan place is Pearl Cafe, a Thai restaurant that's gotten fantastic reviews. That's where we're headed - to the land of fast food and strip malls that defines N. Lindbergh - to sample delicious Thai cuisine.

Saint Louis Gast Haus

With "over ten imported German beers" and enough meat options on their menu to rival an all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse, Gast Haus claims to be "The Schnitzel". Plus, if you can make it a bit before 7, you can enjoy the "BEST happy hour in St. Louis" with the $5.00 Super Mug (whatever that is).

We are going on a Wednesday rather than a Monday next week for our one-time WACKY WEDNESDAY celebration. There really is nothing like it.  Break out your lederhosen.  It is time to party!

Truc Lam

We've never been to this Vietnamese restaurant as a group, and it consistently gets great reviews. On the few times that I've been there, the staff have been friendly and the food has been delicious. The atmosphere resembles that of a hole in the wall, but we're going for the food, right?

Hanley's Grille and Tap

Hanley's is located in West County Center, between Nordstrom and JCPenny, but don't let its mall location fool you into thinking that it's a national chain! Their extensive menu is made from scratch in-house, and looks fantastic. Join us!

Haveli Indian Restaurant

Do you remember when Dinner Club went here before? While we do have a rule that we don't repeat restaurants, we have repeated some physical locations several times. This is one; Haveli occupies the same space that once housed VN Cafe (which we visited on March 7, 2005). The format and cuisine of Haveli are obviously a bit different than those of its Vietnamese predecessor, so please join us as we return to the corner of Page and Dielman.
