Truc Lam

We've never been to this Vietnamese restaurant as a group, and it consistently gets great reviews. On the few times that I've been there, the staff have been friendly and the food has been delicious. The atmosphere resembles that of a hole in the wall, but we're going for the food, right?

BBC Asian Cafe & Bar (Banh Mi Boba Tea and Creperie)

As Banh Mi Boba, this place had a huge following of enthusiastic eaters. They've renovated and made some changes recently and it's time for us to check this place out. The menu appears to have all manner of crepes, subs, salads, and even gyros.

Kim Son Vietnamese Bistro

This is another one of those restaurants we haven't dined at before, but buildings that we have. This formerly housed Vietnam Star and we went there on April 7, 2003. Let's return and try out the replacement! Maybe this week I'll even get to eat!

Pho Long

It's been cold outside and there's not much better than warm soups to do the job of heating us all up. Actually, we had considered pasta but the place can't handle our large group, so pho it is.

If you've never had pho before, now's your chance. It's a really rich Vietnamese broth served with noodles, onions, basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, hot sauces, and more. Join us and have some! (Note that I don't know what else is on the menu but hopefully they have some other options for those who don't do beef broth.)

Monsoon Vietnamese Bistro

Some of my coworkers have been here and they say it's pretty good. They tend to be a trustworthy bunch, but we'll have an opportunity to determine together if they have any sense of taste!

Vietnam Palace

This is marketed as St. Louis' newest Vietnamese restaurant, and also as being open under new management, so let's go check it out. The juxtaposition of "we're brand new" with "not really, we're just under new management" is sure to lend some intrigue to our evening!

VN Cafe

This place has a really tasty Vietnamese lunch buffet, and a great review above, so you should definitely make a point of joining us this time (as well as all others, of course!).

Miss Saigon

Since they've opened, I've been to Miss Saigon twice. It's about as good as one of my favorites, Pho Grand (which the owner's sister owns), but a bit more elegant. So why not come to the East Loop area and party with us?

We'll be going to a restaurant called Vietnam Star. You can guess what kind of food it is.
