Rosalita's Cantina

Billing itself as the one and only Tex-Mex restaurant on the Washington Avenue strip, Rosalita's serves up tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and all of the other preparations of Tex-Mex food you're familiar with as well as a special tableside preparation of guacamole. Does anyone want to split that?

El Agave Mexican Restaurant

How did we pick this week's location? We passed El Agave as we were driving along Watson. We know absolutely nothing about it, save for the fact that they have a sister location in St. Charles. There are no reviews posted anywhere. Curious? Join us!

Milagro Modern Mexican

Milagro occupies the space formerly held by Natural Fact Deli, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of busy Lockwood Ave. With a great selection of dinner entrees, tacos, and house-made margaritas, how can you go wrong?

Amigo Joe's

Though it doesn't seem like it, we haven't been to a Mexican place in
quite a while. House specialties include Texas Nachos (fajitas over
nachos) and Pollo San Jo (chicken, ranchero sauce, cheese, and shrimp). It
looks like they also have $2 margaritas.

El Palenque

This Mexican restaurant has gotten rave reviews on several food sites, so let's check it out. The only blurb I found about this place was on buildstlouis.org:
Hand-rolled tortillas, "family recipe" caramel sopapilla, and Durango-style specialties are yours to savor at El Palenque. Chef Enedina serves up Mexican fare with an authentic twist, using fresh ingredients prepared in a traditional manner.
Sounds good!

Flaco's Cocina

Flaco's Tacos was a St. Louis restaurant that had great fish burritos. However, Flaco's closed down a number of years ago. It clearly inspired somebody -- and they have now opened up a tribute restaurant that we'll be going to on Monday. This is our first tribute restaurant, which is very exciting if you want it to be! Who knows what a tribute restaurant even is?

Atomic Cowboy

We're doing another special dinner - this time we're going to be postponed a few days due to the Labor Day holiday; we'll be going out to support KDHX 88.1 FM as they have a benefit on Wednesday night (http://www.kdhx.org/tastes/). I've never been here but I've always wanted to try it out. We'll be outside in the Hut! I have no idea what that means but doesn't it sound great?!

Pueblo Solis

We're doing a Tuesday dinner because I won't be in town on Monday.

I was here once, it tasted very good, and lots of people claim it's the best around. Let's all go and see for ourselves. I know it says to do so below, but please remember to RSVP if you'll be going as the place isn't huge and I want to make sure they can accomodate all of us.

Mi Ranchito

This is a brand new Mexican place that opened north of the Loop at Kingsland and Vernon. I don't think there are any reviews of it yet so I prefer to think of this as an experimental meal, entering uncharted culinary territory. Come join us!

Senor Pique

Senor Pique had a great article written in the Post-Dispatch and it sounds like a unique taste of fine Mexican cuisine. We've not been to this restaurant before, but we have been here when it was Maharaja. If the address sounds familiar, that's why.

Mi Lupita

This Mexican restaurant comes highly recommended to me, so let's check it out, shall we? The only problem is that they don't take reservations. So... please RSVP if you'll be coming so we can give the restaurant a semi-accurate count. I will use this information to secure us a table!

El Tio Pepe

We've been going to locations more central and east recently, so it's time to try something a bit different. Located in a strip mall in St. Charles, El Tio Pepe has been a favorite of many people for years; each dish is made fresh right after it's ordered. If you're unfamiliar with St. Charles but would like to go, feel free to contact us and we can try to set up some sort of carpool.

El Paisano

El Paisano is a fairly new, fairly good Mex (Tex-Mex really, but with a few Mexican specialties) place that opened up in a former Ponderosa's space in Olivette. Brian wants to go check it out as a Dinner ClubDestinationTM. We're expecting you to join!

The place looks bright and colorful, and that tells me that the food should be interesting and exciting! Plus, they have one positive review up on their web site, which clearly indicates that people have only good things to say about the establishment.
